Different types of headbands

A headband is the most stylish, the most versatile and the most affordable and trendiest accessorise and the loveliest part is that they never go out of fashion. But one has to keep themselves up-to- date and follow the latest trend of wearing a headband. Headbands are made for all types of hair for short hair, long hair, and straight hair and how can we forget curly hair.

There are several types of headbands that you can wear differently on different occasions like:

· Plastic headband: These are the most common and mostly popular among the teenage and school going girls. But this doesn’t mean that they are not for grownups, a lot of celebrities are seen wearing headbands as they are very comfortable and gives a nice shape to our hair. You will find different types of shapes and sizes available in plastic headbands and they are not very expensive so one can stock up in their closet to look different whenever they go out.

· Crochet headbands: Crochet headbands are fancy headbands increasingly liked by all teenage girls because of its bright and flowery appearance. Unlike lace headbands, crochet headbands are very comfortable and holds our hair properly. These headbands can also be used as a bracelet or a tight neck chain.

· Fabric headbands: These are mostly used by school girls to avoid their hair coming on their face, this covers the hair completely and gives a U cut or a V cut to our hair. It is best suitable for those who have long and very thick hair. They are available with embellishments on it as well as cloured prints on it.

· Toothed: Toothed headbands consist of either metallic or plastic tooth on one side to hold the hair tightly. Teethed headbands give volume to ones hair. They not only secure the hair tightly but also give a very stylish look. For an evening dinner or a wedding party one can just slide in their toothed- beads studded headband with their fancy floral or satin dress and is all set to go for the occasion.

· Homemade headbands: You can make your headbands with flowers, ribbons, twigs and beads. They are a little week for thick hair but those who have short and silky straight hair can defiantly try making a headband at home.

· Bridal headbands: Bridal headbands are very fancy and stylish; they are usually studded with stones and beads. Just separate your bangs from the rest of your hair and put the band a bit further back, then you can either tie a bun or leave it loose, both ways it is going to go with your gown.

Skin care tips for TEENS!

Youngsters are going for facials invariably thinking it to be a shortcut to get that elusive glow. But I would suggest youngsters to opt for cleansing rather than facial. Facial will give you TEMPORARY relief from the onslaught of skin problems like dryness, acne, pigmentation etc, since the skin at this age is very tender and prone to damage, the overuse of the facial products may give rise to acne and other skin problems. Instead teenagers can opt for cleaning and moisturizing to prevent over drying will also help increasing the blood circulation.

TIPS FOR TEENAGERS

Natural Facial Masks for Teen

Using natural teen facial ingredients can not only create beautiful skin, but is a great money-saving alternative for teens. Many of the ingredients for home facial recipes are already in the cupboard or refrigerator.

  • Carrot Mask: For most skin types. Cook two carrots until able to be mashed with a fork. Spread evenly over face and allow drying. Rinse with tepid water.
  • Cucumber Mask: For most skin types. A small amount of mashed cucumber applied over the face will hydrate and refresh. Leave on face up to 20 minutes and rinse. Place a couple slices over the eyes for soothing eye treatment at the same time!
  • Oatmeal Mask: For oily skin. Mix a couple tablespoons of cooked oatmeal with water, lemon, juice or milk to form a thick paste. Allow to harden and rinse dry.
  • Egg Mask: For dry skin. A beaten egg or egg yolk hydrates dry skin. Apply and leave on for 15 minutes or until dried, then rinse. Other good masks for dry skin include sour cream, olive oil, and honey.
  • Green Tea Mask: For sensitive skin. Steep two to four green tea bags in a small amount of water and saturate a cloth with the solution. Leave cloth on the face 15 to 20 minutes and rinse if desired.

General Makeup Advice

As with any makeup, blending is the key. Check your makeup in daylight if possible and don't be afraid to swipe off any access with a tissue. Never go to bed with makeup on. Use makeup remover pads, unscented baby wipes, or petroleum jelly to remove it. For additional tips, check out our Makeup Tips page. If you ever experience any skin irritation, quit using it immediately until you find out what the problem is. Consult your dermatologist for the best remedy.

Fashion Trends for winter

Fashion Trends for Winter have been on the IT list of everyone as winter is coming close. This upcoming winter, there are a range of different fashion trends to choose from. From sleek masculine silhouettes to mismatched outfits, there’s something to suit all tastes and style preferences. If you’re after new season wardrobe inspiration, take a look at a few fashion trends for winter 2011-2012 below.

· Mix and Match:

This fashion trend is all about excess. Don’t be afraid of showing your retro side so go mix your fur jackets, sequins, leather, and lace to create a textural bonanza. This trend requires a keen eye to create the perfect balance of textures; otherwise you might come across as having gotten dressed in the dark.

· Feature prints:

Choose a feature print to be the focal point of your outfit. Oversized polka dots, large flowery prints, and Baroque-style patterns are all good starting points. Make sure the prints are oversized and in-your-face. Go all out in a bold printed dress, or stick to separates if you’re after something a little less brash and see how eyes turn back at you.

· Go belted:

Cardigans or loose jackets can sometimes be shapeless, so change this by adding a belt. A belt cinched in at the waist is great for creating an hourglass silhouette. Choose a skinny belt and wear with a light to medium knit cardigan. Wear it over a pencil skirt for a classic corporate look.

· Layered:

If you are unsure of what to wear this winter, the easiest thing to do would be to layer it. A longer length cardigan worn under a cropped leather jacket is a great way to wear the trend.

· Scarves:

A simple way to update your style is to team it with a fashionable scarf. The right scarf can work wonders. Wear a chunky snood for warmth, or add a silky scarf worn open and draped for something more chic.

· Ponchos:

Winter is the time to wear more and show less, so go in for ponchos- fur, lacy, cotton choose any type of material and team it up with nice pair of denims or skirts.. The same could be said about the styles, which means you are completely free to choose your perfect poncho to keep you warm in the up-coming cold days.

· Boots:

Fringed boots on long flowing skirts and chunky jewellery are all part of the Boho or trend setters. You can add these to your everyday pieces to always look trendy and stylish.

Fashion for GIRLS

Fashion is only fun when you are not stressing out every second about what you should wear. Fashion is something which makes one feel comfortable wearing, whether it is clothes, hairstyles, shoes or accessories for casual wear, parties or just a hangout with friends.

Being conscious of what you wear and how you present yourself to people is important. That saying, don’t judge a book by its cover?? We say it because we DO judge books (and people) by their covers (clothes). It’s worthwhile to remember that there is more beyond the surface. But paying attention to what you wear is my way of saying, what’s beyond the surface is worth it, too. Just remember to be yourself.

Remember 5 key words before choosing what you are buying or wearing:

· Buy quality and take good care of your clothes.

· Be trendy, but not a trend-worshiper.

· Find out what's in style so you're not wearing a fad that's over.

· Stilettos with pointed/ skin fit jeans and fancy tops or tunics.

· Kolhapuri chappals are also the 2011 fashion craze for many girls, avoid them in rains but otherwise, they go best with Indian as well as western attire.

Accessories:

· Longs chains are in fashion, team them up with funky pendants.

· Delicate white metal earrings and chains go well with Indian dress.

· If one loves to wear rings, wear fancy but delicate rings, keep it less but the best.

· Apply bright coloured nail-colours, they look great on everyone, even French- manicure is something which gives a very elegant and classy look, best for workaholic people.

· Rubber bangles, metal bangles, kadas, woollen bangles, bracelets go well with denims, kurti, harem pants.

i loVe Rains nd WavEs

Whirling, Swirling waves…
Lashing on the banks…
Stealing the sand…
Soft and subtle sometimes...
Whispering sweet nothings…
Fondling like a lover…
Waves…
The outbursts of a profound ocean…
Eruptions of wild emotions…
Wings of tempests deep within…
Waves…
Laughing and giggling…
Frothing and panting…
Weeping and sobbing…
Then breaking down…
Waves…
Never ending waves
