Fashion Trends for Winter have been on the IT list of everyone as winter is coming close. This upcoming winter, there are a range of different fashion trends to choose from. From sleek masculine silhouettes to mismatched outfits, there’s something to suit all tastes and style preferences. If you’re after new season wardrobe inspiration, take a look at a few fashion trends for winter 2011-2012 below.
· Mix and Match:
This fashion trend is all about excess. Don’t be afraid of showing your retro side so go mix your fur jackets, sequins, leather, and lace to create a textural bonanza. This trend requires a keen eye to create the perfect balance of textures; otherwise you might come across as having gotten dressed in the dark.
· Feature prints:
Choose a feature print to be the focal point of your outfit. Oversized polka dots, large flowery prints, and Baroque-style patterns are all good starting points. Make sure the prints are oversized and in-your-face. Go all out in a bold printed dress, or stick to separates if you’re after something a little less brash and see how eyes turn back at you.
· Go belted:
Cardigans or loose jackets can sometimes be shapeless, so change this by adding a belt. A belt cinched in at the waist is great for creating an hourglass silhouette. Choose a skinny belt and wear with a light to medium knit cardigan. Wear it over a pencil skirt for a classic corporate look.
· Layered:
If you are unsure of what to wear this winter, the easiest thing to do would be to layer it. A longer length cardigan worn under a cropped leather jacket is a great way to wear the trend.
· Scarves:
A simple way to update your style is to team it with a fashionable scarf. The right scarf can work wonders. Wear a chunky snood for warmth, or add a silky scarf worn open and draped for something more chic.
· Ponchos:
Winter is the time to wear more and show less, so go in for ponchos- fur, lacy, cotton choose any type of material and team it up with nice pair of denims or skirts.. The same could be said about the styles, which means you are completely free to choose your perfect poncho to keep you warm in the up-coming cold days.
· Boots:
Fringed boots on long flowing skirts and chunky jewellery are all part of the Boho or trend setters. You can add these to your everyday pieces to always look trendy and stylish.
